National College’s Louisville Campus Launches Three New Bachelor’s Programs
Healthcare Management & Accounting/Information Systems Complement Existing Programs

LOUISVILLE, KY – The Louisville Campus of National College (www.national-college.edu; 502-447-7634), located at 4205 Dixie Highway in Shively, has begun enrolling students for three new bachelor’s degree programs in healthcare and business management.

The degrees, which include a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting/Information Systems and Healthcare Management/Information Systems, complement the campus’s existing programs and will help fill employment needs of the Kentuckiana economy.

The bachelor’s degree program in health care management will prepare graduates for department manager positions in health care organizations.  The curriculum includes principles of health information technology, health care management and operations, business management and accounting, and health care law and ethics.  Candidates for the Bachelor of Business Administration in health care management must possess an appropriate associate’s degree in a related health care field.  Students must also complete a 120-hour directed practicum in their final term.

The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management/Information Systems gives graduates a thorough understanding of network and database administration in the health care environment.  The growth in use of electronic record keeping in the health care industry has created a demand for managers with training in information security and database management.

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Information Systems builds on the popularity of the 4-year accounting degree, offered at the campus since 2004.  The interdisciplinary curriculum is designed to equip graduates with the skills to manage financial accounting systems in small- and medium-sized businesses.  In addition to training students as professional accountants, the program provides a thorough grasp of network administration, database management, and information security.

National College has been educating students in Louisville and from throughout Kentuckiana since 1991. In 2003 the campus relocated to a spacious 53,000 square-foot building at the intersection of Dixie Highway and the Watterson Expressway.  Approximately 800 students pursue diplomas, associate degrees, and bachelor’s degrees in 25 programs in business, computers, and health care.

Founded in 1886, National College is dedicated to the training and education of men and women for a full life and a successful career in a number of general and particular fields. The College proudly offers more than 35 academic programs including a master of business administration, several bachelor’s degrees and numerous associate degrees and diploma programs. With campus locations serving 24 communities in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, the College currently enrolls more than 7,000 students.
