National College to Open 25th Location in Columbus

National College will open its fifth Ohio campus location in Columbus in the spring of 2009, offering area students a choice of highly marketable associate degree and diploma programs in a variety of fields in business, computers, and health care. Located at 5665 Forest Hills Boulevard, the new campus will occupy an existing structure and serve approximately 600 students.

"Despite the current state of the economy, there is still significant job growth potential in the career fields we teach at National," says College President Frank Lonagker. "For more than 120 years, National College has been focused on preparing men and women for careers in demand in the workforce, and we look forward to continuing that tradition in Columbus."

The campus is just minutes from major traffic arteries including two I-270 freeway exits and the I-71/Route 161 interchange. "Among the compelling reasons to locate in Columbus Square," adds Longaker, "was its proximity to freeways, providing convenient access to the largest number of potential students." The 20,700 square foot campus will feature 10 lecture classrooms, four computer classrooms with 84 workstations, and laboratory facilities for medical assisting and information systems engineering programs. National College is investing approximately $1.4 million - all privately funded - in renovations and equipment for the new campus.

The new college campus will be located in the Columbus Square Shopping Center at Route I61 and Forest Hills Boulevard near Kroger and directly across from the Columbus Square Bowling Palace. The center is locally owned and managed by the Hadler Companies.

"We couldn't be more excited about National College locating in Columbus Square," says George Hadler, CEO of the Hadler Companies. "They had a ton of opportunities to locate elsewhere, but they chose Columbus Square as the best choice. That speaks volumes as to the effectiveness of all the remodeling and promotions we have done to attract new tenants and shoppers to the center."

Classes are slated to begin in the spring. National College's combination of small class sizes, convenient scheduling of class sections, dedicated instructors with real-world experience, and individual attention will offer students a path for rapid entry into the modern workforce. In 2008, 91% of the College's more than 2,000 graduates who were available for employment were employed within three months of the completion of the academic year.
