Ambassador Networking Breakfast
On Friday, August 21st, the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce held its quarterly Ambassador Networking Breakfast at the Roanoke Valley Campus. Career Center Director Cathy Fortune is a member of the Ambassadors for the chamber and was the Organizing Committee Chairperson.
A great breakfast was catered in the large conference room which provided a perfect networking environment for the attendees - half of whom had never visited the campus prior to this opportunity. Approximately 70 members and guests attended the function. The guests were very impressed with the College and eager to learn more about the available career training programs and the kind of relationships their companies might build with the College. The networking continued long after the formal agenda was completed and Community Resource Coordinator Karen Jackson, a recognized workforce development specialist, was "thrilled" with the opportunity to strengthen existing community relationships and begin to forge new, important partnerships.
