Scholarship Winners

The Roanoke Valley Campus was pleased to learn this week of no less than four scholarship winners. Tammie Hudson, a medical assisting student, has been selected as the winner of a $500 scholarship from the Roanoke Rotary Club. Tammie is one of two winners from the Roanoke Valley. The scholarship was awarded on the basis of financial need and service; Tammie's work with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and with animal rescue groups impressed the Rotary selection committee. She was honored at a Rotary banquet on Thursday, June 12, at the Hotel Roanoke. Congratulations to Tammie, who lives in Rocky Mount with her twelve year old daughter.
Three students, Stephanie Einhellig, Holly Fitch, and Tonya Williams, have been awarded major scholarships by the Kitas and Lutsko Family Foundation. The scholarships were awarded based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need, and were for students in either a technical or health care related field of study. Holly's scholarship was for $3,000. Stephanie and Tonya each received $2,000. Holly is in the Medical Assisting program; Stephanie is a medical major/minor; and Tonya is in the AOP program with a medical concentration. Congratulations to all three of these young ladies for winning such sizeable scholarships.
