Constitution Celebration

On September 17th, the Pikeville campus held a celebration in honor of Constitution Day. The Cake and Constitution themed event allowed students to get together and discuss the Constitution of the United States of America.
The program featured a reading of the Preamble by Student Services Representative Chris Riley and was followed by several members of the Student Activities Council reading the first ten amendments of the Constitution. After the reading, participants enjoyed an American flag cake. The program was a great opportunity for students to assemble and discuss their liberties and freedoms provided by the Constitution. Student Crystal Ripkoski said, "This was a good way to refresh the students' memories of why we celebrate the Constitution."
The Pikeville Campus stressed that understanding and practicing the liberties and freedoms given to us by our founding fathers is an extremely important concept. Being aware of these freedoms and responsibilities is one of the most important characteristics of being an upstanding and responsible student, employee, and citizen.
