Learning the Law

On Wednesday, September 30th, the Pikeville Campus welcomed guest speaker Ira Branham, JD, from Ira Braham Law Office to talk to students in the Healthcare Law and Ethics class about medical malpractice. His lecture revolved around the theme of basic human nature and how humans are emotional beings that are inclined to "feel before they think." He talked about how this fundamental human characteristic plays such an important role in medical malpractice issues.
After his lecture, Mr. Branham opened the floor for discussion with the class. The students responded well to the topics covered during the lecture. He said, "I felt like I was very warmly received and got plenty of positive feedback from the students," said Branham.Giving students a chance to hear from professionals in the field is part of National's commitment to provide students with quality knowledge of what they are studying.
