New Medical Transcriptionist
When Margaret Case completed the medical transcription program at the Pikeville Campus in August of 2008, she was soon hired for the position of Radiology Transcriptionist with Highlands Regional Medical Center of Prestonsburg, KY. She started as a full time employee and was provided health benefit options as well. Her two main job functions are transcribing the doctors' notes and working the front desk. Margaret says her courses at National College greatly contributed to her career success as a transcriptionist: "The keyboarding class I took helped me gain speed as a transcriptionist and the terminology course was very helpful too." Along with the medical transcription program, she also completed the medical billing and coding program in the fall of 2008 and received her diploma during this year's graduation ceremony in May. With almost a year of being employed at the local hospital, Margaret says she enjoys her job, and finds the work rewarding.
