Goals Accomplished!

When Jonathan Rouse came to National College in September of 2008; he had two goals in mind –to get a great education and a great job. He has now accomplished both of his goals.
A former glass cutter, window installer, and dry-wall applicator; Jonathan was interested in the healthcare program from the very beginning, showing excitement and enthusiasm with every new lesson learned. During his externship, he achieved great a rapport with patients and says visiting with them each time they would return to the clinic was the greatest! With his accomplished graduation in February of 2009, Jonathan started working with the career center to pursue employment within his field.
The Kentucky Blood Center of Pikeville contacted Jonathan for a written exam and then a final interview. Drawing upon the campus’s Career Center, he obtained resource materials on interviewing skills and was well prepared for his final presentation. As a result, his second goal was reached when he was offered the position of mobile phlebotomist! Jonathan’s start-up for his new position will include a training period working with screenings, medical histories and questionnaires in order to qualify donors. He then will draw, process, and package blood samples from them. He will soon be traveling in the mobile unit with his supervisor and a team of phlebotomist to various locations throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. The day he was offered the position Jonathan came by the Pikeville Campus to thank National College in helping him achieve both his educational and professional goals!
