An Honor for Service to Veterans

Nancy Wilcox, Director of Admissions at the Lynchburg Campus, was recently honored for her service to area veterans. Loyd Woodford, a veteran and member of the Marine Corps League, Detachment 759 in Lynchburg, Virginia, visited her on campus to present her with a special award.
Nancy has been an associate member since 1991 and she sings and entertains at the League monthly, sharing her love of music and her country. "The League is a special place," said Nancy, "and all of the entertainers consider it an honor to be a part of this organization. We do whatever needs to be done; from benefits to raise money for families in need, collecting needed articles and sending packages to our fighting men and women overseas and to those at the Veterans hospital, or just getting together for an evening of fun and relaxation."
The Marine Corps League Detachment is a blend of military, active and veterans, from all branches of the service and a large number of civilian associate members. Nancy said, "This award is very special to me and I am so grateful to be an American. Semper Fi."
