Career Stimulus
On Thursday, April 30th, the Lynchburg Campus hosted a “Career Stimulus 2009 Job Fair.” Over 30 employers participated in the event to discuss employment opportunities, collect resumes and hand out job applications, and talk about important skills and qualifications that they feel it takes to get a job. Hundreds of students and visitors throughout the community came to the job fair dressed professionally and ready to network!
In addition to the job fair, the campus held workshops on interview preparation and how to create effective resumes and cover letters. Some of the employers that attended included: H&R Block, Fox 21/27, Sears, Best Buy, J. Crew, Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia, Centra Health, Carilion, Sam’s Club, Central Virginia Training Center, CVS Pharmacy, Macy’s, Boddie Noell, Startek, and First Citizens Bank.
