Starting Over

Shelley Basinger (pictured right), lead reporter for ABC-13 News, visited the Lynchburg Campus on Monday, January 5th. She talked with Director of Admissions Nancy Wilcox (left) about the challenges students take on to return to school during difficult economic times. With recent lay-offs and cutbacks that have left many jobless, individuals are faced with the problems of starting over in a job market that requires job skills and technical knowledge that is lacking on their resume. Shelley noted that it must be very difficult for many to adjust their lives and schedules to include going back to school full time. Nancy spoke with Shelley about the fact that most people who are looking for ways to improve their lives are not fully aware of what is available to them until they come in and get help. National College has been in the business of helping people learn the skills they need for great careers for more than 120 years, through good times and bad.
