Future Focus Expo

The 3rd Annual Future Focus Expo, presented by Virginia’s Region 2000 Technology Council, was held on October 21st. The Lynchburg Campus exhibited at this event and had the opportunity to talk with middle and high school students and their parents. Based on surveys conducted by the Technology Council at the event, 91% of parents who attended with their teens said that the Expo helped them understand what school and training was required for their teen’s future. 91% responded that the Expo was beneficial in helping their teen find a career path in the region, and 98% said that the Expo increased their awareness of jobs and careers in the region. As a leading career college in Region 2000, representatives from the Lynchburg Campus talked with students and parents about the programs offered and grants that are available. Pamela Hooper, Director of IT programs, talked with prospective students and parents about the new Information Systems Engineering (ISE) program now being offered as well as other computer programs available. Lamont Lawson, an ISE student at the campus, shared why he chose National. Caleb Dawson, Admissions Representative, and Jane Kuhn, Community Resource Coordinator, talked with teens as well as prospective adult students about all of the benefits that National College offers.
