Hidden Treasures

The Lynchburg Campus hosted the “Hidden Treasures” Career Fair on October 16th with over 35 employers in attendance including: WSET-TV, Georgia Pacific, Wachovia, Progress Printing, Macy’s, Sears, Best Buy, Kroger, CVS Pharmacy, Kirkley Hotel, Sam’s Club, Virginia Employment Commission, Central Virginia Community Services, H & R Block, U.S. Cellular, American Red Cross, Manpower, New Land Jobs, and more. Students came dressed for success. They had an opportunity to discuss job openings with employers, hand out their resumes, and complete applications. To make the career fair even more beneficial, Career Center Director Anita Kumar organized mini workshops including creating exceptional resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews in today’s economic market, the new era of information technology, knowing the difference between Office 2003 and Office 2007, personal finance, healthcare fundamentals, and mastering supervisory skills.
