Scrub Club and Awareness

On October 27th, the Scrub Club of the Lynchburg Campus sponsored a breast cancer awareness day. The day started off with a speaker from the Witness Project and ten-year breast cancer survivor, Ingrid Dunnaville, and Breast Health Educator Marianne Storten.
The Witness Project is a health program for women throughout central Virginia that includes a group of women who "witness" about their triumph over breast cancer. Trained health instructors at the program used special breast models to show the students how they can check themselves for signs of breast cancer. Students had a chance to practice what they've learned on the models. They enjoyed the presentation and also received informational goodie bags.
