Ten CNAs were honored with peer nominated Excellence in Caring Awards along with Perfect Attendance Awards, Humor and Positive Attitude Awards, and Teamwork and Professional Growth in Customer Service Awards.
Displays from local schools and colleges including National College, post-acute care facilities, and uniform shops were available during lunch to provide opportunities for ongoing growth in the medical field. Chair massages were given to all who desired them during a catered luncheon.
The Mayor of Lynchburg, Joan Foster, and the Mayor of Farmville, Sydnor C. Newman, elevated the CNAs with a proclamation honoring their value to the citizens of their respective communities.
During break times Sue Coleman, Director of Healthcare Education; Nancy Wilcox, Director of Admissions; and Jane Kuhn, Community Resource Coordinator, spoke with the 500 CNA’s regarding their future educational goals and educational opportunities in the fields of Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Technician, and Medical Billing and Coding offered at the Lynchburg Campus.
