Real World

The Lynchburg Campus recently participated in Real World Central Virginia, an annual event for youth and young adults in Region 2000. The event simulates the real world by addressing education, employment, financial and lifestyle decisions that youth will soon have to make. The Real World fair provided information on how to make daily responsible decisions necessary for adult life including creating educational and career plans. Seminars were held on balancing a checkbook, developing a budget, selecting insurance, and interviewing for jobs. The youth were given the opportunity to practice applying for college scholarships and selecting a college to continue their education. Real World Central Virginia was presented by the Coalition for Strengthening Youth.
