“Hooray for Heroes”

Louisville Community Resource Coordinator Tammy Southerling (pictured) recently joined forces with Fort Knox, the proud Army Town, to show appreciation for the sacrifices of more than 4,000 active, retired, and reserve military and first responders with their families at the 3rd Annual "Hooray for Heroes" event held in Radcliff, Kentucky. Hooray for Heroes was a fun day of prizes, live music, games for children, food, and much more. The community went all out by setting up booths offering educational opportunities, health and wellness information, and services designed to pamper those who have served and are currently serving in the military. The day culminated in a very special program at historic Stithton Baptist Church dedicated solely to our uniformed heroes, both past and present. It was a great day for everyone. More than 40 soldiers and their families signed up at the National College booth to get more information about starting a new career.
