Southwest Dream Team

Louisville Campus Community Resource Coordinator Elaine Jetton is on the marketing committee of the Southwest Dream Team which was formed in 2008 by business leaders in the Southwest area of Louisville. The goals of the Team were to attract quality businesses and employers to the southwest area; retain educated and skilled workers who live in the area; and to improve the quality of life for all area residents. Because of Elaine’s involvement, Assistant Campus Director Vicki Strunk gave an open invitation to the Team to hold their meetings in the campus auditorium. Because of these ties to the community, the two ladies watched the Team’s project from start to fruition.
It was 13 months in the planning, but on Friday, March 20th, the city of Shively watched as the Southwest Dream Team unveiled a 90-foot banner that can be seen from pivotal points on Dixie Highway, just down the road from the campus. According to Robert Price, Owner of Express Employment Professionals, “People as never before are noticing Southwest Louisville and the pride we have in our area of town.” The most exciting aspect for the College, however, is that the student in cap and gown on the banner is a National College graduate!
