Career Fair
The cold weather hindered neither students nor employers from attending Louisville’s first Career Fair in 2008! On Wednesday, January 16th, the student lounge offered standing room only as it was filled and overflowing with employers and students. Many students completed applications and were interviewed on the spot! Several students are now being called in for follow-up interviews.
We had a great representation from our local banking community including Chase, 5/3 Bank, US Bank, National City, Ft. Knox Federal Credit Union, BB & T and PNC! International student Lucy Bereira was particularly interested in a part-time/voluntary position in the International Banking Division of Chase, as they are also located in her home country of Brazil.
The Talis Group was on the hunt to fill entry-level accounting positions. Those with income tax experience are in great demand right now, and we were pleased to have Celeve Multi-Service and Income Tax Service on site. Other participants Home Instead, Wolter Chiropractic, and RX Crossroads are always ready to hire our students who are interested in the medical field and patient care.
While this may have been Alice Hollins’ last Career Fair as career center director, she definitely made sure we had great representation from the community. Thanks also to participating employers UPS, Express Personnel, Employment Guide, Neil Huffman Automotive, Lowe’s and Goodwill Industries! We were pleased to be able to expose our students to a wide variety of careers that are hiring today!
