ISE Lab Upgrade

In keeping with our goal of providing the best training and education for our students, the Louisville Campus Information Systems Engineering (ISE) labs recently underwent a significant upgrade. Both of the computer labs were completely renovated with new computers, new network server equipment housed in two 6-ft high computer bays containing new patch panels, a ProCurve switch, Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS’s) and the HP ProLiant terabyte server equipment. In addition, the ISE labs will be transitioning to Microsoft Windows 7 operating system in the coming weeks.
All of these changes ensure that our students learn by having hands-on experience using the latest technology. And since the previous computer equipment is still in the lab, the students can learn even more by using this equipment to construct their own mini-networks, right in the classroom. This will make for great practice, and ensure that the students gain confidence and are ready for the workforce.
