Making it Happen

Cedric Jackson knew what he wanted to do with his life and was determined to make it happen. He moved from Louisville to Lexington to attend National College's only Radio and Television Broadcasting program.
Shortly after Cedric began school, he could be found actively volunteering for Department Chair Bill Gray and the Radio and Television Broadcasting Department. He was so ambitious that he decided to volunteer for the promotions department of a local radio broadcasting group, Cumulus Broadcasting. He had only been there about 6 months when they decided to offer him a part-time position.
Since then, he has gotten experience with more than 6 types of radio stations including talk radio, country, and alternative rock. He is known as the promotions guru because he covers all genres of music and all events including The Sue Wylie Show, Georgetown College Football, and different morning shows. He has gained so much experience that he is now acting as the broadcasting group’s interim promotions director. A pretty good spot to be in with only two more weeks until graduation!
Cedric said he was looking forward to the upcoming Homeless for the Holidays event. He said that each year the Twitch and Mary Jane Show broadcasts live in the K-mart parking lot for an entire week collecting food, toys, and necessities for people in the area without homes. Last year they filled two tractor trailers full of items and this year he looks forward to being a part of breaking that record.
