Getting Organized
Mary Panckowicz, a nationally known organizational expert, recently shared her knowledge with several classes on the Knoxville Campus. Instructor Lois Jaynes-Hickle and Career Center Director Terrye Whitaker have taken workshops with Mary and feel that her information is very practical and useful regardless what your business or interest is. She presented tips on time management, organization, procrastination, and other items to help students in their desire to be better organized for school as well as at home and in the workplace.
Mary also talked about methods to be more energized while getting rid of the natural clutter that occurs as one works and how to make decisions in a short period of time so things do not hang over your head and get blown out of proportion. Students found Mary's presentation helpful. The most popular tips reported among the students were: designate 15 minutes to clean; stand up while you clean off your desk and go through piles; and start in a corner and work your way through it before you move to the next area on the desk.
