Blood Drive Fills Vital Need and Exceeds Goal

On July 15, the Harrisonburg Campus held a blood drive on campus for Virginia Blood Services of Charlottesville. Drive organizers set a goal of collecting 25 units of blood but, thanks to the students and members of the community, the goal was surpassed. National Public Radio recently ran a report revealing that, nationwide, blood collection agencies have seen a downturn in their collections because they depend largely on corporate blood drives. With so many people out of work, there is less organizational participation - yet the need for blood continues to be high. In September, the campus will hold another blood drive for this worthy cause. We are pleased that so many students, faculty, and staff supported this event and assisted National College in this way to contribute to the good of our community.
