Educational Photo Shoot

The Harrisonburg Campus was the setting for a photo shoot, both still shots and video, for three days this week. Rosetta Stone, a large local company that produces award-winning language learning software, used the campus to simulate a hospital emergency room. The photography department uses actors to photograph various scenes that depict the concepts their software is trying to teach. In this case, make-up artist Noah Jones and photographer Christopher Logan explained that Rosetta Stone will be teaching “the language of trauma” in the wide variety of languages the company offers. One of the campus’s entrances was the “emergency room entrance” (pictured) and the images captured will be used to teach words and ideas such as burn, x-ray, broken bone, firefighter, nurse, and related things. These photographs will be used in both Rosetta Stone’s CD and online instructional media.
