Dress for Success
On Wednesday, July 16, the Harrisonburg Campus hosted its first Dress for Success Expo co-sponsored by Adecco in Harrisonburg. Seven vendors presented information, samples, and coaching on how to present a professional image, not just for the interview but after you get the job, too. The event included exhibitors with presentations focusing on clothing, hair, and make-up. Two consignment businesses helped students understand they can dress well on a budget with careful shopping. Free food and free samples were enjoyed by all participants. Students also received professional clothing donated by faculty and staff. Two $50 VISA gift cards went to students Robert Grogg and Kathy Strickler as door prizes. Another prize, a gas card, was awarded to Elba Lantz. Special thanks to Adecco for co-sponsoring the event.
