Like Mother Like Daughter

Judith Hill (left) and Angela Schrimscher (right) will both be graduating from the Harrisonburg Campus on May 30. Excellent students, they both received a diploma in the Medical Coding and Billing program and they are now employed in good jobs related to their diploma. They are also mother and daughter.
Judy (the mother) and Angie (her daughter) were both employed in production work near their home about 25 miles from Harrisonburg. When they began hearing that the factory would be cutting back and that lay-offs would be coming they were concerned. Judy suggested to Angie that she should go back to school and get some training for a more secure job. Angie agreed completely that she needed training to enable her to be more employable. She had heard of National College and came to Harrisonburg to investigate. Medical Coding and Billing appealed to her. When she told her mother about the program and how she would qualify for enough financial assistance to make the program affordable, Judy also became interested. She checked it out for herself and knew she would benefit too. So in September of 2006, both mother and daughter enrolled together. They had most of their classes together, studied together, and supported each other. Angie got her job at the end of June 2007 and Judy soon followed at the first of September; both were employed before they finished school.
Whatever they did to get where they are, it must have worked because both are top notch students. One will graduate with honors and the other with high honors. Which is which? We’ll never tell…
