Pass It On
Clinical Coordinator Jacqueline Howard came up with a technique for surgical technology students to remember their tasks in the operating room. She had students dress in their scrubs, gowns, and gloves and then played “Pass It On” – an activity where students held surgical instruments, repeated their names, and passed them on.
“The students had a blast and said it was very informative; it also gives the students the confidence they need to feel comfortable in the operating room,” Jacqueline said. “I feel great when I see that they can come together and get motivated and excited about their future in surgery.”
