Life Changing Phone Call

It wasn't long after high school that Lee Ann Chambers (pictured) decided her job prospects would be limited without a college degree. Upon receiving a National College mailer, Lee Ann thought, "what would it hurt to call and get more information?"
She still remembers the name of the admissions representative at the Bluefield Campus that helped her even though it was many years ago. She was encouraged to learn that there were loans and grants available to help her pay for college. "That one call really did change my life!"
Lee Ann graduated in 2001 with an associate degree in the administrative office professional program and a diploma in medical transcription. While she did find employment upon graduation, she later returned to the campus's career center to find another job that suited her better. She remembers the support she got from Career Center Director Elaine Owens: "I spoke with her and she started sending my resume to different companies. It finally landed on the desk of Attorney Ward Morgan and as they say, ‘the rest is history.'"
Almost six years later, Lee Ann is still working as office manager and legal assistant for Ward Morgan, Attorney at Law. "My boss is great, the pay is good and I am truly happy with my job. Not to mention, I purchased my first home in September 2007!"
