National College's location on Logan Street Hill proudly overlooks the heart of Bluefield, Virginia. Erected in 1922, the historic elementary school building became National's campus shortly after the college began serving the Bluefield/Princeton region in 1981. It has since been enlarged to provide a full complement of medical and computer labs along with additional classroom space.

Hope for Graduates

For National College graduates, New Hope Family Practice (Dr. Jana M. Peters) has become a place of hope…hope of obtaining employment. The practice currently has 21 employees of whom seven are graduates from the Bluefield Campus. With three doctors, three physician assistants, one nurse practitioner, and one counselor practicing in the facility, it is a very busy practice that offers evening and Saturday hours. When the practice has a staff opening, Office Manager Karen Radford says that National is the first place she turns to for qualified employees.

“[National] graduates are hired because of their training and hands-on experience. The teamwork at National has been very helpful in helping me to find qualified employees for positions when they are open by supplying resumes, interviews and follow-ups from those interviews.”

Graduates employed there include: Brenda Stinson, 1991 Medical Administration Assistant; Patricia “Chris” Lowery, 1998 Medical Assisting major; Tina (Walling) Lester, 2000 Medical Billing and Coding; Mary Lester, 2001 Medical Assisting; Lillie Poole (Stocksen), 2001 Medical Assisting; Alanna Palmer (Morris), 2007 Medical Billing and Coding; and Brittany Hensley, 2007 Computer Applications Technology. We are proud to be able to supply New Hope Family Practice with qualified employees and of course we hope they will continue to employ National College graduates.
