Breaking New Ground in Princeton, West Virginia

On Friday, October 23rd, National College held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new campus that is currently under construction in Princeton, West Virginia. This will be the first National College location in the Mountaineer State. When construction for the new, $4.8-million facility is completed, the college will transfer all operations from its current Bluefield, Virginia Campus to the new location in Princeton.
Campus Director Denver Riffe led the ceremony acknowledging the town of Bluefield and the great support they've given to the College since the Bluefield campus opened in 1981. Denver noted that the new location in Princeton will allow the College to grow its programs and students. Vice President Lenora Downing also attended the event and expressed appreciation to the Bluefield Campus for their support in this transition.
During the ceremony, Bluefield student "TJ" Martin (pictured right) shared her story with the crowd. She explained that when she first came to National, she had a bad attitude but it wasn't long before she realized that her instructors and Denver showed that they believed in her potential. This support helped to build her confidence and helped her to succeed.
The new campus will have 18,000 square feet of space encompassing numerous class rooms, a medical laboratory, and an information technology lab. A library, student lounge, and addition administrative space will also be provided.
A crowd of 25-30 guests attended the ceremony, as well as representatives from several media outlets, including the Princeton Times. To read the newspaper article, click here.
