A Trip to the Pink Palace

On Tuesday, August 19th, the Bartlett Campus Student Activities Council (SAC) sponsored a field trip to the Pink Palace Museum of Memphis. In addition to students, Instructor Cathy Ginn, SAC advisor Valerie Rushing, and Campus Director Loyd Williford attended and viewed a range of exhibits covering a variety of historical periods.
Participants took a “Walk Through Time” in the appropriately named exhibit examining fossils from prehistoric eras. The group viewed a geology exhibit that displayed many rock and mineral formations. They looked at the culture of Memphis history including life of the first settlers. In addition to viewing exhibits, the group watched the movie Sea Monsters on the IMAX screen. The film looked at the marine reptiles of the dinosaur age through archeological discoveries and animation.
