A Great Wealth of Knowledge

Education can give one limitless potential when it comes to enhancing career goals and achievements. Pikeville campus graduate Harding Kyle Wallace is a great example of how an education can support and add to any job or career endeavor. Commonly referred to by his second name, Kyle graduated in February of 2008 with an associate degree in business administration-management.

Before attending National College, Kyle began working as Director of Engineering and Safety with Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) in the spring of 2004. He is responsible for the hospital’s plant facilities including building projects with large budgets. He is also the project manager for nine ARH locations.

After two years with the healthcare facility, Kyle enrolled at National College in March of 2006, looking to enhance his knowledge and skills in support of his position that held so much responsibility. As a U.S. Navy veteran with five years of service as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class, Surface Warfare Specialist, Kyle received the $1000 Imagine America Military Award Program scholarship in recognition of his service to our country. He also received the Joseph E. Hurn Academic Performance Scholarship.

Kyle said that his degree has enhanced his knowledge of the business perspective of his job. While he was very familiar with maintaining the hospital’s facilities, he now has a better understanding of the business side of things, especially the budgeting process. He feels he can now do the job of 1st and 2nd level executive management. It is obvious to Kyle that his education has played a large role in his career success!
