A Stock on the Rise
The achievements and accolades continue to roll in for Tammy Montgomery – two-time National graduate, Alumni Hall of Achievement inductee, and former financial planning representative extraordinaire for the Bristol Campus. Tammy recently “hung up her shingle” as the head of the Bristol branch of Edward Jones, which provides financial services for more than 7 million clients in the U.S., Canada, and United Kingdom.
“I decided to enter the financial-services industry because I like helping people achieve their long-term financial goals,” said Tammy. “This is a fascinating business, and I hope I can pass my enthusiasm for my work on to my clients.”
“We carefully select the best of the best,” said Edward Jones managing partner James D. Weddle. “After being hired, our financial advisors go through one of the most rigorous training programs in the industry, involving three months of 10-hour days, six days a week.”
They [were] just amazed about how much we knew!
Joining the ranks of the one of the world’s leading investment firms takes a lot of hard work and study. As a National College graduate with associate degrees in both business administration–accounting and management, Tammy was more than up to the task. After graduating from National, she enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a nearby “traditional,” regionally-accredited college–where nearly all of her National College credits were accepted for transfer–along with a few of her fellow National alumni. She relates a story from one of her accounting classes there:
“Angelia Williams (National graduate) and I are in the same cohort. Brad Foster (another National graduate) joined us last night, to make up time from missing his Monday night class. I started noticing that the three of us were answering all of the questions, while everyone else in the class was really struggling. Our classmates caught on to the same thing. One asked, ‘Didn't all three of you go to National College?’ They [were] just amazed about how much we knew! My teacher [was] even impressed!”
Bull market or bear, we know Tammy’s stock will continue to rise. A National College education is a blue-chip investment!
