A Keen Analysis

Timeca Evans has a good grasp of numbers and a sharp mind, two qualities that serve her well as a financial analyst for United Foodservice Processing Co-op.
“We do all the purchasing for … KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Long John Silver’s,” explains the 2007 graduate from the business administration--accounting bachelor’s degree program at the Louisville Campus. “What I do is analyze the sales and receipts for those stores and locations, and for the distributors and our suppliers, as a whole.” She then looks for gaps and variances in sales trends and determines their causes, helping the stores improve their bottom line.
“You don’t really think much about it when you’re taking the class…but in the business world that’s what it’s about…”
She found it surprising that, even though her accounting and business courses are essential to her ability to do her job, some of the supporting classes required of every National student can be even more crucial. “The course that really benefitted me here…is communications, giving presentations…because that’s what I need now, that’s what I do now,” she admits. “You don’t really think much about it when you’re taking the class…but in the business world that’s what it’s about…giving presentations, and being comfortable giving those presentations.”
Like many young people, Timeca admits to be a bit impatient when she first entered the workforce. “I got a job at the bank, and I was young, making the good money, and I thought ‘I don’t need school,’” she confesses. “But once I kind of hit that glass ceiling, I realized ‘you know what—I’ve got to go back to school’” in order to get ahead.
With her bachelor’s degree in hand and currently in pursuit of a master’s degree, Timeca hopes to one day find a job where she can use her knowledge and skills to help others and give something back. Timeca, everyone at National College is proud of your accomplishments and we’re certain you’ll achieve all of your goals!
