A Good Decision

Sara Burke, a student in the bachelor’s degree program in business administration— accounting at the Bristol Campus, first attended National College in 1999.

“It definitely helped me improve my life”

After receiving her associate degree in computer applications technology, she went to work for her current employer, Southeastern Tax & Accounting. “I started at the bottom, and now I’m right under the ‘big man,’” she notes proudly.

Because her curriculum included a solid foundation in business fundamentals, including accounting, she was able to quickly master the demands of her position. Now, as supervisor and office manager, she says, “I do a little bit of everything here…sales tax, payroll tax, payroll, financial statements, income taxes, business licenses…everything.”

After National College introduced its bachelor’s degree programs at the Bristol Campus, and with the encouragement of her employer, Sara has returned to her alma mater to continue her education and further her career. She looks forward to one day obtaining her CPA, and perhaps becoming a partner at Southeastern Tax & Accounting. One thing is for sure, she is even more pleased than ever with the quality of her instructors and courses at National, as she recites a list of friends who have enrolled at the Bristol Campus on her recommendation.
