A New Career!

abneyRichmond Campus graduate Ricky Abney saw a 30-year career with Dresser Industries come to a sudden end when they relocated their manufacturing facility overseas.  But thanks to the Trade Act and National's Workforce Development Grant, Ricky got the chance to develop the computer skills needed for a new career.

“Computer Applications Technology at National College provided me with the knowledge and skills I needed for my job search,” he says. “I am now employed as Sales Manager of Line-X of Richmond, Kentucky.  I use my computer skills every day.”  Ricky has computerized all of the franchise's sales and marketing records and information, which allows him to spend less time “working the books” and more time doing what he does best: interacting with customers and dealers.

Ricky has a great sense of humor and an easy going nature that are apparent the moment one shakes his hand.  “I am associated with people every day and happy with the knowledge that National helped me become a success.”
