Prescription for Success

Rosla Moss was working at one unrewarding job after another when she heard a couple of her friends talking about their school: National College. Tired of call center and factory work, the programs they described sounded interesting to Rosla.
“The more they talked about it, the more it sounded good!” she exclaimed. She finally decided to check it out for herself.
She ended up enrolling at the Martinsville Campus in the spring of 2007, choosing the pharmacy technician program. “My grandma, before she died, she was on a lot of medications,” Rosla explains. “I knew about all her medications…I took interest in it…so I decided to go to school to be a pharmacy tech.”
While her time at the campus was short–just a year–she packed a lot of learning into the time she had. Asked if she had a favorite instructor, she paused for a moment. “All my instructors were pretty good,” she reflected. “I can’t just say I’ve got a favorite one, I liked all of them.” She completed her externship with a national pharmacy chain, and shortly after graduation went to work for the company. She admits, though, that she has greater ambitions:
“In the next five years, look for me to be head of a hospital pharmacy!” she proclaimed–with only a hint of playfulness.
While she is committed to personal success, a higher salary and more responsibility are only a part of her motivation. Her customers are her greatest source of satisfaction, or as she puts it, “knowing that you’re helping [to save] people’s lives.”
