“Snatch Her up!”

The Indianapolis Campus is proud to announce that Christine Hume (pictured), surgical technology student, has completed all of her externship hours and is now an official graduate of National College. Christine will begin her new career as a Surgical Technologist in August with the prestigious Ortho Indy.

Christine began her program in December 2006. She has worked diligently to maintain a balance between family and school. She has made straight A’s while married with two children. She said that her husband was great support for her, encouraging her to keep going even when she felt like she should be home with her children. She said that she lived by the famous words from Eleanor Roosevelt, “you must do the things you think you cannot do,” to keep herself on track with her ultimate goal of graduation.

“Christine is such a ‘sponge’ that we just can’t give enough to.”

Representatives from Ortho Indy told Heidi King, Director of the Surgical Technology program, that they wanted to hire Christine shortly after she first started her externship hours with their organization.

Michelle Klett, a registered nurse with Ortho Indy, said, “Christine is such a ‘sponge’ that we just can’t give enough to.” Ms. Klett said that even the surgeons have commented how well prepared she is and how quickly she catches on. She said the surgeons expressed a need to “snatch her up!”

We are very proud of Christine and wish her much success in her new career.
